Karin's fascination with, and passion for wine goes back to her European roots and to her early 20's when she was living in South Africa where wine has been produced for over 300 years and is very much a part of daily life. After moving to Canada in the mid 70's and living in Toronto, Karin expanded her wine knowledge to include wines from the Niagara Region of Ontario as well as wines from around the world.

While working for one of the prominent wineries in the beautiful Okanagan Valley she conducted comprehensive tours and wine tastings for corporate groups, public groups, industry staff and VIP guests.

In addition, Karin participated in many wine industry events such as trade only tastings, seminars, workshops and conventions, which provided her with an opportunity to meet and learn from many of the leading figures in British Columbia's wine culture.

Karin has an excellent understanding and knowledge of the entire scope of the wine industry, including the finer points of viticulture and the winemaking process itself. She continually pursues more formal education, having completed wine-related courses offered by the British Columbia Wine Institute and the internationally renowned Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

Located in Kelowna in the heart of the spectacular Okanagan Valley, Karin is available to travel anywhere in Western Canada to share her expertise and passion for the internationally acclaimed Okanagan Valley wines.
